Sonora, CA — A settlement agreement appears near between the Sonora Area Foundation and former Executive Director Mark Bergstrom.
Bergstrom filed a wrongful termination complaint against the Foundation Board of Directors after his dismissal in December of 2009. SAF board member Gary Dambacher confirms that a settlement agreement “is close,” but adds that it has not been finalized. He declined to comment on the details of the proposed settlement.
When reached by phone, Bergstrom declined to comment on the matter. He asked that questions be directed to his attorney, James E. McGlamery. At this point, McGlamery has not returned calls seeking comment.
Bergstrom has alleged board “conflict of interest” matters taking place by the supporting organization of the Sonora Area Foundation, the Irving J. Symons Foundation Board.
