Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County passed a budget for fiscal year 2011-12.
A couple of positions were saved at the last minute yesterday. The Supervisors decided to fully fund a Crime Scene Technician in the Sheriff’s Office and an Appraiser in the Assessor’s Office that were set for elimination. Also, a Deputy County Counsel position and a Deputy County Administrator will receive less hours, rather than be eliminated entirely. Funding is expected to come from contingency funds.
Yesterday’s vote was 4-1 with Liz Bass in opposition.
Tuolumne County’s General Fund Budget will be around $52 million next fiscal year. The county will have around 560 fulltime employees.
A vote on proposed reorganizations, including the combining of the Community Development Department and Public Works Department, will come at a later date.
