Stockton– The California Transportation Commission has allocated $825 million in new funding to 92 California highway, transit, and rail projects.
The allocations include nearly $9 million from Proposition 1B, a 2006 voter-approved transportation bond. To date, the state has allocated nearly $8 billion in Proposition 1B funds.
In Calaveras County, the Calaveras Council of Governments received $18,000 in allocations for sidewalk enhancement and the Mokelumne Hill Town Hall. These funds will help improve the Town Hall façade and siding, provide construction of a bicycle rack, handicapped parking space, a handicapped ramp to the Town Hall facility and 60 linear feet of sidewalk.
“From one end of the state to the other, transportation projects are providing jobs and improving mobility for people and businesses in California,” said Caltrans Acting Director Malcolm Dougherty.
