Fight Leaves Man In Critical Condition

Valley Springs, CA– A 52-year-old man is in critical condition following a fight Wednesday night in Valley Springs.

According to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the Sequoia Rose Mobile Home Park for a report of a physical confrontation.


While the two men had already left the scene, the deputies learned that the victim, Marvin Brown, 52, of Valley Springs was admitted to Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital.


Deputies determined that 41-year-old Valley Springs resident, James Livezey was a person of interest. He was contacted at his residence and placed under arrest for battery with a serious injury.


Livezey is being held at Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. The case is still under investigation.
