Groveland, CA — Six people visiting the Mother Lode were injured in a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon on Highway 120.
The CHP reports that 50-year-old lrike Welk of Germany lost control of her 2011 Hyundai while going into a turn near the intersection of Hamilton Station Loop Road. The vehicle collided with a car driven by 40-year-old Krushna Dundigalla of Florida. A passenger in Welk’s vehicle, 53-year-old Ulrech Welk of Germany, sustained major injuries and was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. Irike Welk was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries.
Dundigalla, and two passengers in his vehicle (36-year-old Rajitha Dundigalla and a six-year-old girl), were taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center for minor to moderate injuries. A 12-year-old girl had to be transported to Doctors Medical Center for more serious injuries.
The accident was reported at 2:45pm.
