Girl Injured In DUI Accident

Jamestown, CA — A Sonora man was arrested for DUI following an accident in which a nine-year-old girl was injured.

The CHP reports that 46-year-old Richard Kennedy was driving on Jamestown Road Thursday night near the Golf Links Road intersection and his vehicle struck an SUV driven by Melissa McDaniel of Jamestown. A nine-year-old female passenger in McDaniel’s vehicle was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries.

The CHP says Kennedy was responsible for the crash, as he crossed over the double yellow lines and failed a series of sobriety tests. He was taken to Tuolumne County Jail. The accident was at 8:40pm. No other injuries were reported.
