Sonora, CA– Repairs are underway for traffic signals that have been causing Sonora motorists delays since last week.
Caltrans spokesperson Michelle Demetrias says the signal lights on Highway 108 and Washington Street were affected after a vehicle accident on Friday. Because the stoplight sequence was temporarily repaired, it has been causing longer wait times for motorists.
“The pole was either knocked down or dislodged,” said Demetrias. ” When it was put back up, the loop wasn’t exactly perfect. We have scheduled our electrical guys in Modesto to come back and get the loops connected. We’re certainly aware of it and we realize that it’s adding time to local commute.”
Demetrias says unfortunately there is no estimated time on when repairs will be made.
