A Sonora man has died at a Modesto Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident last week near Twain Harte.
The CHP confirms that Jordan Reyes has passed away at the age of 23. Reyes was traveling along Highway 108 Thursday evening when his 2012 Triumph was hit by a car driven by 34-year-old Jessika Smith of Sonora. The CHP reports that Smith was turning onto Highway 108 from Twain Harte Drive and drove directly into the path of Reyes.
Officer Brad Schultz says it is unknown if Smith will face significant charges as a result of the crash, as the CHP is still completing the case report. The CHP has ruled out drugs, alcohol, or the use of a cell phone as a contributing cause of the accident.
Friends of Reyes report that he was a firefighter with the Stanislaus National Forest. A memorial is being planned to remember his life.
