Jamestown, CA– Tomorrow the Sonora area CHP will be conducting a DUI/Driver License Check Point in an undisclosed location in Tuolumne County.
Saturday’s check point from 7:00 pm to 2:00 am, kicks off the beginning of several DUI enforcement operations that will target impaired drivers in Tuolumne County, according to CHP Officer Mike Remmel.
Remmel says the Sonora area CHP conducts numerous saturation patrols throughout the year along with check points, to reduce fatal and injury accidents caused by intoxicated drivers. Drug Recognition Evaluators will also be on duty during these operations to evaluate drivers under the influence of drugs.
“By publishing our efforts, we believe that we can deter motorists from drinking and driving, or from driving while unlicensed,” said Remmel.
