October To Bring Change In The Weather

Two cold fronts will sweep across Northern California next week.


Breezy winds and rain showers will spread across the region Monday and Monday night. Snow levels may briefly drop to around 8500 feet by Monday night. Only a light dusting of snow is expected.


A stronger cold front may spread periods of moderate to heavy rain across the Motherlode on Tuesday night into Wednesday. Precipitation amounts will range from four tenths to three quarters of an inch. Expect gusty winds from thirty to forty mph.


The Sierra Nevada will see anywhere from one to three inches of rain. The snow levels may drop to below 6000 feet late Wednesday into Thursday. Expect several inches of snow and wind gusts ranging from forty-five to seventy mph.
