Sonora, CA– The Columbia College Foundation has just launched its mini-grants program.
Grants are available to Columbia College departments, faculty, staff, students, and community members whose proposed projects support the Foundation’s mission. That goal is to promote student success by providing community resources that support and expand educational opportunities for Columbia College students.
The Foundation expects to provide approximately 15 awards in the range of $200 to $1,000. Applications are reviewed by a Subcommittee of the Foundation Board of Directors.
The Foundation will give 60% of their funds to raising the Foundation’s visibility in the community and to assist with donor relations and future fundraising efforts. Forty percent will be entered into a lottery process and drawn at random until available funding is exhausted. Unfunded proposals will be re-entered into the next available funding pool.
Successful applicants are asked to provide a short written summary of the benefits and outcomes of receiving the funding after their project or idea is complete. Photographs and stories about how the grant money was used may be featured on the Foundation’s website.
The application deadline is November 11, 2011.
