Sonora, CA — After originally declaring Friday a “permissive burn day,” the state Air Resources Board has changed course and says it is now a “no burn day.”
The change was made midmorning and impacts both Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. It is partly due to declining air quality across the region with the numerous prescribed burns that have been taking place. In addition, heavy winds are reported in some areas of the state.
It is unknown if burning will be allowed later this weekend.
