Wallace, CA — The Trinitas Golf Course developers lost a lawsuit aimed at Calaveras County.
Michael and Michelle Nemee argued in U.S. Bankruptcy Court that golf should be allowed in areas zoned as agriculture. Their attorney’s argued to Judge Ronald H. Sargis that golf is in the same category as activities like horseback riding, so it should qualify as agritourism.
The ruling of Judge Sargis, in favor of the county, was made public this week. The Trinitas project has been a contentious issue in the Calaveras County for past several years.
