A pair of cold weather systems will impact the Motherlode and the Sierra Nevada this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, the first system will affect the area from Thursday into Friday night. The second system will keep rainshowers around through the weekend.
Snow levels will drop from 6500 feet down to 2000 through 2500 feet by late Friday.
Half a foot to a foot of snow is expected at the highest pass levels along with strong gusty winds.
