Jamestown, CA – Two Tuolumne County Deputies are supervising a demolition of a home on Golf Links Road today.
The double wide mobile home is owned by Stewart Hatler. It is one of four homes that the county has ordered the demolition of this month for what Hatler calls “technicalities.” For the Golf Links property, Hatler says he was served papers one year ago. He says the court has granted time for an appeal in the past, but that now the county is not waiting.
Properties that are demolished are considered “unlivable” by building inspectors. Hatler claims he provides local renters with needed low income housing opportunities, which he says are not otherwise available in Tuolumne County.
The family on Golf Links Road that was renting the home is in the process of removing their possessions.
The contractor on site is using an excavator to fill a dump truck with debris in preparation to tear down the double wide mobile home.
