Upset Over Court Papers

Wallace, CA — A Calaveras County man faces vandalism charges.

The Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Dan Marcus Valdez was served legal papers to appear in court because of a civil matter. When the licensed process server drove away from the home at 11700 Wade Lane, he heard the back window of his 2007 Toyota shatter. He drove to a nearby service station and quickly called the Sherriff’s Department. It was later discovered that Valdez had thrown an ashtray at the man’s window. Valdez was later arrested for felony vandalism, and is being held on $15,000 bail.

The victim estimated the damage to his vehicle to be $3,000.
