Mokelumne Hill, CA– An 82-year-old man from Railroad Flat was fatally injured in a vehicle accident Friday.
According to the CHP, at around 5:30 am, Charles Munslow was driving his Subaru on Highway 26 just west of Jesus Maria Road. His vehicle reportedly did not follow the curve in the road and continued straight. This caused his Subaru to cross over the eastbound lane and off the road where it collided with a tree.
The vehicle then continued downhill on the right shoulder and struck a dirt embankment. This resulted in Munslow being ejected from his vehicle. When medical personnel arrived on scene, he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
