Columbia, CA– This Sunday the All Equestrian Christmas Parade will trot through Columbia.
Sponsored by the Mid-Valley Unit of the Back County Horsemen, the parade also features a toy drive. Everyone is encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to benefit needy families.
Spectators of all ages are invited to step back in time at Columbia State Historic Park and enjoy a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus while watching the largest non-motorized parade in Northern California. The parade starts at 11:00 am on Main Street.
Also on Sunday is the Las Posadas Nativity procession. Las Posadas is a Spanish tradition that re-enacts the biblical story of Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter in Bethlehem on the original Christmas Eve. Since 1983 Columbia has put on their own version of Las Posadas each December with a distinctive 1850’s flavor. The procession starts at 5:30 pm.
