Tuolumne County Email Scam

Sonora, CA– The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of an email scam.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Jeff Wilson says an email has been circulating by a person claiming to be a hired assassin. He is reportedly blackmailing the intended victim into paying money to avoid being assassinated.

“This is just one more attempt at preying on the public through the internet,” said Wilson. “It is a scam and should be ignored.”
