San Andreas, CA– This year hundreds of Calaveras County kids will be having a brighter Christmas thanks to the San Andreas CHP.
The annual Chips for Kids program collected over 400 toys, stuffed animals and games which were delivered this week to hospitalized and disadvantaged children through Santa’s Express.
“This year several families took the time and initiative to generously give,” said CHP San Andreas Commander J.B Ehlers. “It’s a great reflection on how our local community supports one another during this difficult holiday season. Even what one might consider a little assistance can make the world of difference to some of these families.”
Toys were collected in barrels at local Calaveras County Elementary schools and also dropped off at the CHP office in San Andreas and the substation in Arnold.
