San Andreas, CA– While the holidays can be a festive time for some people, for others it can be very lonely.
Isolated older adults who have lost loved ones to death or have lost touch with family members through the years are especially affected by the holiday season.
The Friendship line is a program of the Institute of Aging that provides support to seniors, family members, and their advocates.
Funded in part by Tuolumne County, Calaveras County and Catholic Charities, the toll-free Friendship Line is available to anyone 60 years of age or older or anyone concerned about an older adult.
The support service at 1-800-971-0016 offers needed reassurance, crisis intervention, and medication reminders.
For more information call (209) 754-6525.
