San Andreas, CA– Calaveras Superior Court is offering discounts on long-overdue traffic tickets. Tickets due and payable before January 1st, 2009 may be eligible for a 50% discount thru a limited-time “Amnesty Program”. According to the County of Calaveras “The discount would apply to the total amount due, including the base fine and any assessments, late charges, and other fees.
California’s Administrative Office of the Courts was authorized by Assembly Bill 1358 to allow this reduction statewide starting January 1st through June 30th, 2012. Many tickets are not eligable such as parking citations, driving under the influence, and reckless driving. Eligable persons must not owe restitution to a victim on any case, or have misdemeanor or felony warrants within the county.
More information will be available on the court’s website www.calaveras.courts.ca.gov after the first of the year.
