Sacramento, CA – Republican Kurt Vander Weide has joined the race for the 25th District Assembly seat.
Vander Weide is currently a District Aide for Congressman George Radanovich and a past Turlock City Council member.
“Sacramento has more than enough money to do the essential job that they are obligated to do,” says Vander Weide. “We’ve got to get spending under control. We have a majority party in Sacramento that seems to think the answer to everything is to ‘tax and spend.'”
In order to get the state out of debt, Vander Weide says California needs to reduce spending, regulations and taxes.
Earlier this week Tuolumne County Supervisor Teri Murrison announced that she will also run for the Republican nomination. Other candidates that have expressed interest are Modesto City Councilwoman Kristin Olsen and former Modesto City Councilwoman Janice Keating.
