A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the Sierra Nevada from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.
Three to six inches of snow is expected between 4000 and 6000 feet. A foot of snow is expected in the higher locations.
Winds will gust from 50 to 60 MPH over the crest.
A second storm will arrive late Friday night and continue through Sunday.
One to two feet of snow accumulation is expected at and above 5000 feet.
Snow levels will lower a little with the second storm.
