San Andreas, CA — The San Andreas C.H.P. Officer is seeking the publics help as the investigation continues into the Friday afternoon vehicular fatality.
That fatality took place on Hwy 4 west of Shirley Rd. at 3:30 when 69 year old Linda Jackson of Murphys allowed her eastbound vehicle to cross over the center line. Her 2008 Honda collided with a Chevy Silverado driven by 76 year old Warren Freedlan of Copperopolis. Even though Freedlan was wearing his seat belt he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. His passenger, 37 year old Michael Smith of Jamestown, suffered only minor injuries.
Freedlan’s death marks the second traffic related fatality of the year in Calaveras County.
The C.H.P. is investigating the possibility that Jackson may have been trying to pass a vehicle when the accident occurred.
If you were in the immediate area and have any information regarding the accident contact the C.H.P. Office at (209) 754-3541 and ask for either Officer Becky Myers or Officer Jaime Castillo.
