Sonora, CA — An unidentified female was seriously injured in an off-road accident early this morning along Keltz Mine Road in the Stanislaus National Forest.
CHP Sgt. Jim Jacobs says the female was a passenger in a Suzuki Samurai and she was ejected when the vehicle encountered some rocks and overturned.
There were a total of three people in the vehicle at the time of the accident near Cedar Ridge.
The female was driven to Sonora Regional Medical Center by a friend and then air-flighted to U.C. Davis Medical Center. She reportedly has suffered injuries to her face and head.
An investigation into the matter is ongoing. It is not known if alcohol played a factor. The accident occurred during the three o’clock hour this morning.
