Murphys, CA — Ironstone’s Gail Kautz will be the first to tell you the Concours d’Elegance is far more than just a car show and she is backing up her words again this year.
The purpose of Concours d’Elegance is to raise funds for local 4H and Future Farmers of American entities in the foothills.
Monday Mrs. Kautz announced that $24,000 was raised from the September, 2009 event held at Ironstone.
The largest sum, $10,000, will go to FFA state headquarters with $5,000 earmarked for the California State Fair Scholarship Fund.
Other gifts include $1,500 to the Calaveras County Fair Scholarship Fund, $1,000 to Tuolumne County 4H, Calaveras County 4H, California 4H Foundation and Calaveras County FFA.
$500 gifts are going to Mariposa 4H (Camp Tweedy), El Dorado 4H, Amador 4H, San Joaquin 4H and Calaveras High School FFA.
$250 is being gifted to Tokay Colony-San Joaquin County 4H and the Murphys 4H Project for automotive/welding.
“Generally what we are doing, we are supporting the 4H and the FFA projects that come out and help us at Concours which this year is September 25. They help us and we help them and we’re just delighted to be able to support these young people who are out there doing great work so we’re very happy that we are able to do this and we’re looking forward to doing more in the future.”
