San Andreas, CA – Calaveras County is looking for a non-profit agency to provide supportive housing for adults with serious mental illness.
Around $639,000 is available for Calaveras County through the state’s Mental Health Services Act.
“When people with mental illnesses are discharged from the hospital, often times they have no home to go back too,” says Rita Downs, Director of the Behavioral Health Services Department. “Right now in our county we really don’t have resources to easily get a person into some form of housing.”
The Behavioral Health Department is seeking a non-profit organization with housing experience with at-risk populations to own and develop the property, and provide/subcontract property management services.
For additional information, contact Christa Thompson at 209-754-6525. The organization must have a willingness to meet specified qualifications.
