Sacramento, CA — The Department of Water Resources has conducted its final Sierra Nevada snowpack survey of the year, and water content levels are well above average.
Statewide, the snowpack total is 143 percent of average for the date. The Northern Sierra is 188 percent, the central is 121 percent and the southern is 139 percent.
Farmers and state water contractors are currently scheduled to receive 30 percent of their requested water allocation and the DWR says that number will likely be increased in the coming weeks or months.
