Sonora, CA — The Sonora City Council approved a General Plan amendment Monday evening so that a portion of land at the intersection of Old Wards Ferry Road and Sanguinetti Road can be used as a park.
It was the final step before Lowe’s could move forward with full construction on its Home Improvement Center.
City Administrator Greg Applegate confirms that a groundbreaking ceremony for the Sonora Lowe’s is set for this morning. Company officials and dignitaries are planning to be at the site at 11am.
