Supervisors Moving Ahead With Reorganizations

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors have given conceptual approval of the reorganization of multiple county departments.

Rather than hire a new Recreation Director and Head Librarian, the two departments will become divisions of the County Administrator’s Office. Another major change is that the Airports Department will become a part of the Public Works Department.

By a unanimous vote Tuesday, the changes were conceptually approved with a list of conditions. The plans can still be altered before a final decision is made.

The county has been looking at ways to streamline government and reduce costs.
