Sacramento, CA – The homeless population in California would gain additional civil rights under a bill passed in the Assembly.
The Associated Press reports that the legislation approved Thursday would add the state’s estimated 157,000 homeless to the list of groups protected from hate-based violence.
The law would allow them to sue for larger sums of money if they are targeted in an attack.
