Columbia, CA — Jeanne Wildman of Independence, Oregon suffered a broken arm in Thursday afternoon’s plane crash at Columbia Airport.
According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, a witness stated that the plane was encountering a crosswind during its approach for landing and appeared to have difficulty compensating. The aircraft touched down, then bounced up ten to fifteen feet before coming back down and colliding with three other parked planes.
A passenger in the plane, Richard Wildman, was not injured. The plane was a Vans Aircraft RV6A. The FAA is investigating the incident.
