Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County is submitting a grant application in hopes of receiving $1 million for the First-Time Homebuyers program.
$50 million is available statewide through the CAL Home Grant program. The program provides deferred, low interest (3%) loans to lower income households that earn no more than 80 percent of the county’s median income.
It is a competitive process, and only 35-40 jurisdictions in California will be funded given the size and allocation available this year. Tuolumne County received a $900,000 grant in 2008.
The Supervisors approved the submission of the grant application Tuesday.
