Coulterville, CA — The Supervisors in both Tuolumne and Mariposa Counties recently designated Highway 132 from Coulterville to Highway 120 as the John Muir Highway.
An official dedication ceremony will be held Saturday in Coulterville at 11am. Muir’s great grandson, Bill Hanna, will be the keynote speaker.
“It is an honor and fitting tribute to my great grandfather,” says Hanna. “The route continues to be filled with the picturesque beauty he first saw nearly 100 years ago.”
The ceremony will be at the Hwy 49 and 132 intersection. A ribbon will be cut by Tuolumne County Supervisor John Gray, Mariposa County Supervisor Lyle Turpin and Hanna.
