Sonora, CA — There’s now a clear path for Kristin Olsen to become the Assemblywoman for the 25th District.
The Modesto City Councilmember was the top vote getter in the Republican primary and there is no challenger on the Democratic side.
“Some of my fondest memories from the campaign were spent up there in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties and throughout the foothills,” says Olsen. “I look forward to meeting more and more people in the district and being a very present and visible legislator.”
Olsen received 27 percent of the overall vote in the six person Republican primary, and her closest competition was Bill Conrad who received 22 percent.
Olsen says she will focus on three main priorities when arriving in Sacramento.
“I’m committed to working to create jobs, to restore local control, and to reduce the tax burden on families and small businesses,” says Olsen.
The 25th District Assembly seat is being vacated by Tom Berryhill who is a candidate for the District 14 Senate seat. He will face Democrat Larry Johnson in the November election.
