Copperopolis, CA – A procession along Highway 4 was held Friday afternoon for Lcpl. Gavin R. Brummund.
Lcpl. Brummund was escorted from the Stockton Airport to Angels Camp by members of the USMC, the CHP and the Patriot Riders motorcycle group.
Members of the community came out to support Lcpl. Brummund along Highway 4, and set up American flags around the Copperopolis and Angels Camp areas.
A public service will be held Saturday at 6pm at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds.
Lcpl Brummund was fatally injured on June 10 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
There is a fund set up for wife Michaela Brummund. Donations can be made through the Umpqua Bank in Copperopolis.
