Sonora, CA — The proposed Sonora Walmart expansion will go before the City’s Planning Commission Wednesday evening.
The company is hoping to add a grocery section to its existing store.
"The project is intended to add just under 30,000 square ft. on the expansion pad located on the east side of their building," says Ed Wyllie, Community Development Director. "The Commission is asked to make a recommendation to the City Council regarding the Environmental Impact Report and supporting documents, and a recommendation on the Site Plan and Design Review Conditional Use Permit aspect."
At a later meeting, the City Council will have the final say on whether to approve the project.
The Planning Commission meeting begins at 6pm Wednesday at Sonora City Hall.
