Sonora, CA — Wednesday night the Sonora Planning Commission recommended that the City Council approve the proposed Walmart expansion.
A public hearing on the project’s Environmental Impact Report lasted approximately two hours. The final vote in favor was unanimous, 5-0.
Walmart plans to add a grocery section onto its current Sonora store.
The City Council will set a date and time for a public hearing on the EIR at its July 6th meeting. If it is approved by the City Council, the project can then move forward.
