San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County will receive nearly $85,000 in emergency funding to help cover the costs of cleanup from a series of winter storms earlier this year. The costs incurred by the county were due to the heavy snow that accumulated several times this past January and February.
The County will receive a $68,000 grant from FEMA and a $17,000 grant from CAL EMA. $60,500 will go to the Calaveras County Water District and $24,300 to the Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District. The Fire District is being reimbursed for costs related to its Emergency Operations Center and responding to emergency calls. The CCWD is being reimbursed for employee overtime and heavy equipment utilized to maintain the function of their water and sewer treatment plants during the storm.
