Cope Talks Economic Development

Sonora, CA – Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority Director Larry Cope will be the guest on Mother Lode Views this weekend.

Cope is optimistic that the county’s unemployment rate will drop over the coming year as new businesses open. He notes that Kohl’s plans to hire 85-100 people, Lowe’s plans to hire around 110 people, and the Standard Mill will employ around 130. Cope will talk about how the EDA is working to recruit new businesses to the county and retain the existing companies.

Tuolumne County’s unemployment rate is 13.5 percent.
