Sonora, CA– We Care Sober Living Home and Sierra Repertory Theatre are just two of the non-profit organizations that have received grants from the Sonora Area Foundation. Trustees in June approved five grant requests totaling $33,500. The Sierra Nonprofit Volunteers, Visiting Hospitalized Veterans and Sonora Cat Rescue will also receive grants.
Sierra Repertory Theatre received the largest single grant of $15,000 to help bring professional guest artists to Tuolumne County for its theatre productions over the next 12 months. We Care Sober Living Home received $10,000 to support its two group homes for people recovering from addictions. Last year this nonprofit provided housing for 31 people.
The Sonora Area Foundation was established in 1990 and is a Community Foundation that provides charitable contributions to worthy projects in Tuolumne County.
