Sonora, CA — The board chair of the Tuolumne County Supervisors, Karl Rodefer, writes about the need for more housing in the county.
He notes, “As our workforce grows, it is steadily shifting to a younger demographic. Our construction of homes has not kept pace with the demand, especially in certain critical sectors of the marketplace that are in that emerging demographic.”
He says in order to grow the local economy, and correspondingly the tax base, the county needs to address the housing shortfall.
