Sonora, CA — Taxpayers in Tuolumne County paid a combined $102,384.00 to school board members in the 2009/2010 school year, according to records requested from the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Office.
The compensation expense is projected to decrease by $23,360.00 to $79,024.00 in the 2010/2011 school year.
Each of the eleven school district boards set their own compensation and stipends yearly, allowing each board member to opt in or out and choose from options provided, either health insurance or a cash stipend. Only Summerville Elementary and County Schools do not offer compensation.

All school boards meet once per month with the exception of Sonora High and Sonora Elementary which meet twice per month.
