Sonora, CA — Plans for a new building at the former Corner Gas site at the Mono Way and Greenley Road intersection will go before the Sonora Planning Commission.
Meeting documents note that owner Ken Keagy would like to construct a small 360 square ft. office/storage building on the property at 852 Mono Way, and add two parking spaces, with a small landscape strip in front of them. He is proposing to keep the onsite car wash and vacuum stations as they currently exist. His project will be reviewed at tonight’s planning commission meeting scheduled for 5:30pm at city hall. You may recall that the former gas station on site was demolished as part of the city’s acquisition of some of the property as part of the widening of the Mono Way and Greenley Road intersection.
Also on today’s agenda is a request by Verizon to install new wireless telecommunication equipment at 901 Sanguinetti Road. It includes a 192 square ft. antenna located on the roof of the cinema. It would be concealed behind material designed to match the building.
Today’s planning commission meeting is open to the public.
