Mother Lode Wages Increase

Sonora, CA — The number of people employed last year in the Mother Lode decreased, but the average wage increased.

New Bureau of Labor statistics show that the average weekly wage in Tuolumne County at the end of last year was $749, which is an increase of 1.5 percent over the previous year. In Calaveras County, the average weekly wage was $680 at the end of last year, which is an increase of 1.6 percent.


During that one year period the number of people in the workforce declined in Tuolumne County by eight percent, and fell in Calaveras County by 11.1 percent.
