Columbia, CA — The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office is trying to find a suspect who tried to get some children to come into his vehicle this morning.
Sgt. Jeff Wilson says a man in his 50’s or 60’s drove up to a group of elementary school students walking to bus stop at Columbia Village Drive at around 7:30am. The suspect offered them a ride and reportedly tried to entice them into his vehicle. Another adult witnessed the incident from afar and notified law enforcement. She stated that the man drove away slowly and was watching the children in an unusual manner.
The man is described as having short grey hair, reading glasses on his head, zip up style khaki colored wind-breaker, green or blue eyes and no facial hair. He was driving a newer model blue Jeep (similar to a Grand Cherokee).
Contact the Sheriff’s Office at 533-5815 if you have any information.
