The Sonora Wildcats High School football season begins this evening at 7:30pm.
Justin Flores, play-by-play announcer for the Wildcats, was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Flores has been calling the games for the last nine years. This will also be his ninth year with color analyst Steve Lee who has been a part of the Wildcat broadcasts for the past fifteen years.
Flores can also be heard each weekday morning on Star 92.7 FM.
The Wildcats are on the road this evening, playing Johansen High School in Modesto.
Flores said said, “Coach Craig and the players themselves are highly optimistic about this year´s football season. The Wildcats brand of smash-mouth football should land us in the playoffs yet again this year.”
Flores is also excited about the new stadium lights at Dunlavey Field. The fans in the stands will no longer have obstructed views due to the old light posts that were placed in front of many of the seats.
All Wildcat games are streamed live on mymotherlode.com as well as broadcast on Star 92.7 FM.
