Values Dropping On Major Properties

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors have approved a reduced assessment on four significant properties in the county, including 134 acres set aside for the Mountain Springs Subdivision.


For 2009/10, the assessed value for the Mountain Springs property (does not include golf course) was $1,687,200. The new value agreed upon is $1,072,000.


180 acre property on Algerine-Old Wards Ferry Road owned by Ford Construction out of Lodi was valued at $1,080,000 for 2009/10 and has been reduced to $900,000. A 40 acre piece of property in the same area owned by Ford Construction was valued at $240,000 in 2009/10 and has been reduced to $200,000.


A 66 acre piece of property two miles south of Sonora owned by Sonora Ridge LLC was valued at $1,058,297 in 2009/10, and is now down to $535,000.


The reduced assessments were at the request of the property owners, and were followed by a review of the County Assessor’s Office. The changes were approved this morning by the Board of Supervisors.
