Sonora, CA– A major retailer in Sonora had its grand opening this morning. Kohl’s in the Junction Shopping Center held a ribbon cutting ceremony and then opened for business at 7:00 am. Kohl’s store manager, Jake Albin said, “We have an outstanding team. At Kohl’s you can expect great things and that’s what we’re about. It’s making sure that you get the best possible service, the best prices, the best quality, and that’s what we strive for.”
Local dignitaries were also in attendance and included Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce President George Segarini, City Council member Hank Russell, Tuolumne County Economic Develpment Director Larry Cope and County Administrator Craig Pedro.
Pedro said, “I’m looking here at the employees that have jobs here in Tuolumne County and that’s exciting. I’m looking at the folks that have come here to shop and that’s exciting. We’re grateful to have a great store and provider of great products. This is just one of the major projects that we’ve been looking towards to help the economy of Tuolumne County.”
130 jobs were created with the opening of Kohl’s. The Sonora location is the 126th Kohl’s store to open in California and one of 21 stores opening this Fall.
